What are G4 Groups?
G4 is a lay-led, group-based counseling ministry built around two nine-step models of change. G4 provides a context for participants to invest a season of their life overcoming a life-dominating struggle of sin or suffering. With the support of their fellow group members, G4 participants work through a biblically based curriculum focused on their primary life struggle.
G4 Group Topics
The topics listed are the ones we currently offer.
GriefShare
Have you or someone you know lost a loved one? Please consider extending a personal invitation to GriefShare, where each individual will find comfort while grieving. We welcome our church family as well as friends, family, and neighbors from the community.
Often, others want to help those who are grieving, but they don't know how. That's where GriefShare comes in. Our trained facilitators have been there, and they have successfully rebuilt their lives after loss. They want it for you as well and will walk with you on the journey toward hope and healing. If you or someone you know is suffering, we'd love for you to join us.
Divorce Care
Divorce is one of the most painful experiences you can face. So many emotions. So many challenges. You don't have to go through it alone. DivorceCare offers support, answers, and practical tools to help you manage the many stresses of separation and divorce and find healing. DivorceCare is a 13-week support group that helps you heal from the pain of separation or divorce. The experience involves three main components designed to help in that healing: video, group discussion, and participant workbook.
Depression and Anxiety
This Care Group focuses on addressing depression and anxiety as it comes upon us from a variety of reasons or causes. Over the course of this study, our hope with God's help is that any depression or anxiety you may be experiencing will do one or all of these three things:
1. diminish to a point that it does not interfere with your day-to-day life
2. become the context for you to learn about God or care for others in new ways
3. reveal aspects of your character which you wrongly viewed as meriting shame instead of honor
Come join us as we seek by faith to courageously engage these two issues that affect so many of us.
Destructive Relationships
All relationships disappoint us from time to time. But some relationships are destructive, especially those marked by the depths of one’s strongholds. Navigating Destructive Relationships, a support group curriculum, provides you with a safe and stable place where you can learn to turn towards God while gathering with others facing similar challenges. This allows participants a unique opportunity to grow as they identify choices they can make in response to their loved one’s destructive patterns. You are not alone. God sees and cares for your suffering.
Overcoming Substance Abuse
Overcoming your substance stronghold is a hard journey, and while nothing makes that easy, it is worth it. Taking this journey one step at a time with the support of others with similar struggles will give much-needed support and help. If you are willing to admit that alcohol and/or drugs are disrupting your life, Overcoming Substance Abuse will guide you toward healing. This care group provides help to reclaim your life and experience the freedom God wants for you. Find hope as you learn to be honest with God, yourself, and others. Grow together as you pursue steps toward lasting change.
Men's Purity
Whether you struggle with habitual pornography or have walked through an affair, this care group is designed to help individuals turn away from sin and towards Christ. Men’s Purity invites men to pursue purity from the struggle with sexual sin. Learn biblical insights and life skills to give you the tools to more fully engage in biblical community.
Women's Purity
Whether you struggle with habitual pornography or have walked through an affair, this care group is designed to help individuals turn away from sin and towards Christ. Women’s Purity invites women to pursue purity from the struggle with sexual sin. Learn biblical insights and life skills to give you the tools to more fully engage in biblical community.
Post-Abortive
No matter what influences a woman to end a pregnancy, the painful side effects are real and not always anticipated. Feelings of guilt, shame, and grief become a heavy burden, and many women feel that they will never be free, that no one understands, that God will never forgive them. But there is hope. You are not alone. Join others in this care group to dive into Scriptures to find help with issues such as relief, denial, anger, forgiveness, depression, letting go, and acceptance. For every woman yearning for the peace of God's forgiveness, this group can be the first step to healing and wholeness.
W
G is for gospel-centered groups. Rather than making an issue, struggle, or sin the centerpiece of our groups, we strive to make the gospel of Christ the core of all our groups. Our identity is not found in an issue but in an individual — the person of Christ.
4 designates the four categories of groups offered:
Recovery: Groups for those struggling with a life-dominating sin, addiction, or traumatic life event.
Support: Groups for those needing encouragement and support during a period of suffering or hardship.
Therapeutic educational: Groups for those needing information and/or resources about a specific life issue.
Process: Groups for those needing help processing problematic emotions or multiple life stressors.
Seven Core Values
1. Bible-based and gospel-centered.
2. Recognize the difference between sin and suffering.
3. Built on honesty and transparency.
4. Uphold confidentiality.
5. Avoid struggle-based identity.
6. Blend discipleship, accountability, and a guided process.
7. Transition into the churches discipleship ministries.
